I bought a book for personal reading on amazon...
It’s a nutrition course textbook. That’s right - educating myself! Enough of the diet B.S. they spew on TV or online. I will learn for myself!

Day 3: Rest Day
Today was a rest day for me because that’s what the schedule told me, and because I had an exam today. I studied so hard for the past couple days and memorized so many details only to find the exam was more simple than a high school test. But, at least I left (an hour early) knowing I aced it :) Tomorrow is another 3 mile run at an easy pace. Weather forecast? Showers. EXCELLENT.

Day 2: 3 miles, easy pace
Sooooo, I set out to do 3 miles at 10 minutes/mile… My shins hurt right away, both my shoes untied (twice!), I started to feel hungry, and all around did a poor job of pacing myself. Sigh. BUT I ran 3 miles and that’s better than nothing. I’m going to look at this as a success, because I ran through the pain and eventually my shins stopped hurting. I focused on continuing,...

Day 1: Cross Training
And so begins my journey to train for the Long Island Half Marathon on May 6!  No running today (I haven’t worked out for a week!). I did 45 minutes of elliptical on incline 6 (I like to target more than just my quads and butt), resistance 6 and apparently did 4.34 miles. I don’t trust the calorie reading, heart rate reading, or mileage on machines very much so I’m going to...
